these paints are beautiful! they aren't 100% consistent in terms of opacity but the effect on paper, especially black paper, is absolutely stunning. the dark purple is vivid and shimmery while the gold can be quite translucent and delicate. the trays look hand filled, so some have more and some have less than others, but it's only by a fraction and doesn't effect the value of what you get. the paintbrush included with the set is wimpy and not nice to use but the water dispensing brush is one of the better I've used. it didn't leak when gently squeezed and the bristles stayed together nicely and gave excellent control, although they are white and did stain quite quickly.
